Artur Fernandes

Artur Fernandes was born on the 11 November 1970 in Viana do Castelo, Portugal. He studied at the University of Sports, University of Geography and University of Sociology of Porto, in Portugal. As footballer, he started his career in the club of the city and became immediately the captain of the Portugal National Team. He was transferred in 1985 to Porto FC in the city of Oporto were he lives since then. After this experience, Artur passed for some important clubs in Portugal. During his football career he made some other projects, working with newspapers and in the Football Players Association of Portugal. He retired from the professional football player career for health problems in 2000 and immediately started working full time as a football player’s agent, with the smart blessing and advices of Mr. Antonio Caliendo, Artur’s players management Master. He opened and developed markets for Portuguese players in the USA, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Romania and Extreme and Middle East. In the summer of 2004 he was the 3rd in the Portuguese Agents Ranking with 38 transfers in only 45 days. More than 200 players transferred between 18 countries in 5 years make of this agent one of the most famous in Portugal and in 2006, at only 35 years old, he was elect President of the Portuguese Football Players Agents Association (ANAF). He is also a good scouter: players like Dame N’Doye (Panathinaikos), Cisse (FC Reading), Rui Fonte (Arsenal FC), Jose Fonte (Crystal Palace FC), Ederson (OGC Nice) were discovered by him. Artur started his official collaboration with World Champions Club in 2006.
