Caliendo: Juventus Plan Summer Shopping Spree

David Trezeguet’s representative says Juve will again invest up to €50m in the transfer market…

Influential football agent Antonio Caliendo has revealed that Serie A giants Juventus are ready to bring out the big guns next summer to make up for the disappointments of the current campaign. Juve bowed out of the Champions League at the first hurdle and were also eliminated from the Coppa Italia last week, while a dismal run of six defeats in their last nine Serie A outings has left them 15 points adrift of leaders Inter despite spending over €50 million in the summer. And Caliendo says the Bianconeri directors are all set for an encore at the end of the season after visiting the club’s headquarters in Corso Galileo Ferraris. “The amount of money invested could be between €40m and €50m,” the agent of the likes of David Trezeguet and Maicon told Tuttosport newspaper. “After all, they know full well what their responsibilities are towards their fans. They are working around the clock. “[Director of sport Alessio] Secco and [vice director general Roberto] Bettega are dealing with a few important situations, they are keeping them under control and know when to intervene. Although they won’t splash out on players they don’t deem as being Juve material.”
